October weddings are always a shot in the dark. There might be rain, there might be snow... or it just might be warm and sunny! Kara and Bris had perfect weather for an Buffalo wedding in October. The ceremony was held on the deck of Aqua Restaurant overlooking the Buffalo river. After making sure the best man kept the rings in the boxes during the hand off (hello openings in the deck) and a few jokes with the groomsmen about who would be the first in the water after the ceremony we were ready to go.
I am a sucker for little details, like the tiny boxes of tissues for "happy tears", the brides flowy ball gown, and a few surprises! Fans of How I met Your Mother might remember that there was an episode where Robyn and Barney get married and he surprises her with a ring bearer that was a literal bear cub. As a nod to that, Kara and Brisban had an adorable cub of their own; a tiny toddler in a bear costume! Plus, the groom snuck one more little surprise in for his bride, and dipped her during their kiss. It was beyond romantic!
I get to work with some awesome couples, and every ceremony teaches me a little more about love and the many forms it takes. Sometimes love means a groom searching for a tiny plastic funnel for a unity ceremony because he knows his bride will notice the little things. <3
Congratulations Mr & Mrs Whitmore!
